18 Injured in Brooklyn Bus Crash

A city bus in Brooklyn crashed into parked cars and barreledinto a busy intersection in Crown Heights on Saturday morning, injuring 18people.

According to Marissa Balbeo, a spokeswoman for New York CityTransit, the bus was traveling along Troy Avenue in Brooklyn when a car infront of it came to an “abrupt stop.” Around 10:20 a.m. the bus swerved toavoid the car and plowed into cars parked along the side of the road and went intothe intersection of Atlantic Avenue. Balbeo describes the bus as causing “achain reaction” of accidents.

18 people reported injuries after the incident. Seven peopleon the bus and 11 others were hurt, though none had any life threateninginjuries. 6 to 10 cars were reportedly involved in the pileup, including onethat burst into flames.
