Man Killed by Student Driver

An 81-year-old man was killed Saturday when he was struck bya truck in Arlington County. The accident occurred around 6 p.m. in the 2800block of South Fort Scott Drive. Marco Amoni was walking his dog when a21-year-old woman was learning to drive when, according to police “she droveover an embankment.” After hitting Amoni, the truck crashed into a house.

Authorities say the two occupants of the truck remained atthe scene following the accident. The two were interviewed and no charges havebeen filed. Police are still investigating the accident.
