The sister-in-law of a woman who caused a crash, while drivingthe wrong-way on Taconic Parkway, killing herself and seven others has toldpolice that the driver smoked marijuana every day.

Police have said that Diane Schuler was high and drunk onJuly 26 when she drove her minivan the wrong way on the Taconic Parkway. Shecrashed in Westchester County, killing herself, her 2 year-old daughter, herthree nieces and three men from Yonkers.

According to Irving Anolik, attorney for the victim’sfamilies, new evidence was revealed during a meeting on Friday with police.Anolik said Joan Schuler, Diane’s sister-in-law, “told them that she knew for afact that the deceased, Diane Schuler, used marijuana daily because of the factthat she didn’t believe in doctors and that this was the best medicine in theworld, as far as she was concerned.”
