A school bus and a pedestrian were involved in a collision in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning. Around 10am, the pedestrian stepped into the street from between two cars and was struck.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital after the collision and was pronounced dead. There were nine students on the bus at the time of the collision, none of whom were injured.

A grate collapsed during a photo shoot at a Brooklyn elementary school this morning. The class photo shoot was taking place just outside the Torah Elementary School in Kensington.

Two of the students had to be taken to Lutheran Hospital for immediate treatment. Another 20 students were examined at the scene. Their extent of injury is unknown.

The annual Click It or Ticket- Buckle Up New York campaign is in full swing as of Monday. Police officers are writing tickets for motorists who do not wear their seatbelts in the hopes of reducing the number of traffic fatalities and injuries this year.

Officers will be stationed at undisclosed locations based on last years number of traffic incidents involving unrestrained passengers. The campaign will continue through the end of the month, putting memorial day weekend in the middle of it.

On Friday evening, two people were injured in a crash in Chelsea. The crash occurred at 14th St and 8th Ave when a car hit a pedestrian, went on to hit another car and then flipped.

Both the driver and the pedestrian were injured and were taken to St Vincent's Hospital. The extent of their injuries was not released nor were their conditions.

A humanitarian from out of state recently died while in New York working to raise money for a good cause.  The charity the man was working for would raise money to purchase and train guide dogs for blind individuals.

The man was killed while riding on his bicycle.  The man was with his partner, and the two would raise money for each New York subway station that they would pass.  Unfortunately,  this good cause took a horrible turn when the man was struck by a large truck while riding the bicycle.  The man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The man had taken part in similar charitable causes all across the world, raising money in various countries and large cities before the accident.
