Last Friday, a crash occurred in Dryden. A northbound vehicle traveling along Route 38 struck a southbound vehicle head on around 5:45pm. The driver of the northbound vehicle has been found to have been intoxicated at the time.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, a professor at Cornell University, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drunk driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital in Syracuse. She was in fair condition as of Sunday and has been charged with DWI.

A motorcycle and another vehicle crashed on Staten Island on Monday. The accident occurred at the intersection of Hylan Blvd and Steuben St in Grasmere. The details of the crash were not reported.

The rider of the motorcycle was taken to Staten Island University Hospital for treatment. He was later pronounced dead. The other driver was uninjured in the crash.

In 2008, a man was killed in an escalator accident at Shea Statdium. The man fell to his death when he went over the escalator's railing. His widow has filed the suit against the Mets, the city and two elevator companies.

According to the law suit, the escalator was too steep and its railing was too low. Shea Stadium has been demolished since the incident in order to make way for the new city field.

On Sunday afternoon, a building collapsed in Brooklyn. The four story apartment building had been cited last month for a crack that ran from the first floor to the third. At 2pm, the building came down on itself.

At least four people were injured in the collapse. One 10 year old girl was trapped in the rubble and sustained minor injuries. Another person was taken to Brooklyn Hospital Center. The other two suffered only minor injuries.

Nestle has issued a voluntary recall of Toll House refrigerated cookie dough products. Reports say that several people have fallen ill after eating the cookie dough raw.

In 28 states 66 people have fallen ill and about 25 people have been hospitalized since March of this year. However, no one has died from eating the products. The FDA is investigating.

On Sunday morning a tow truck driver was involved in an accident in the Bronx. Just before 7am, a tow truck driver pulled to the side of the Cross Bronx Expressway because of mechanical difficulties. He was then struck by a car.

The tow truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was uninjured and was cited for driving without a license. There are more charges pending.

A 2 year old girl was struck by a vehicle on Friday night. The girl was in the street near the intersection of Rockaway Boulevard and 85th Street around 9:30pm when she was hit.

The girl was transported to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition and has since been transported to another hospital. There has been no word on the driver or vehicle involved in the hit and run yet.
