A New York man was killed the morning of Saturday, September 26 when he was crushed while driving a Bobcat-brand tractor.  The 49-year-old Colonie resident became trapped in the hydraulics of the tractor, which he was operating in Lai's Trailer Park.  He became entangled in the hydraulics when he stuck his head out of the vehicle to observe why it wasn't moving.  He accidentally hit the mechanism which compresses the machine's arms.  A passerby found the man and called the police, but the victim died at the scene.

A construction worker was struck by a crane on the back of a truck and was killed in the accident last week, according to a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

The accident caused the bridge that connects Queens to the Bronx to close for a short time. The bridge has been undergoing construction this summer, but due to delays, the date for the project's completion uncertain.
