4 Injured in New York Police Crash Ahead of Biden's Motorcade

Four people were injured Tuesday when a  New York Police Department squad cardriving ahead of Vice President Joe Biden’s motorcade struck another vehicle inManhattan.

New York Police Department Liutenant Mike Wysokowskiconfirmed the accident, saying “At 1730 hours, an advance element comprised ofthree police cars, lights and sirens operating, was traveling west on West 49thStreet when the second of the three struck a Lincoln Town Car.”

Two police officers and two occupants of the Lincoln wereinjured in the crash.

Wyskowskie was not aware of whether the accident affectedBiden’s travel.

The crash is the third in a week involving the vicepresident’s motorcade.

Two cars normally part of Biden’s detail hit and killed apedestrian in Maryland on November 11.

On Monday a deputy sheriff in Albuquerque, New Mexicoescorting the vice president’s motorcade was struck by a car.
