One Injured in Upstate DWI Crash

A man in Nelson, New York, was sent to the hospital and adriver charged with DWI on Wednesday evening.

Police say 19 year-old Jonathan Reinhardt was traveling downErieville Road shortly before 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday night.  Reinhardt lost control of his car,going off the road, and hitting a guard rail and landing in a ditch alongsidethe road.  A 21 year-old passengerin the vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of lacerations.

Reinhardt showed a blood alcohol content of .16 percent atthe time of the accident, double the New York legal limit of .08 percent. Thefact that Reinhardt is under 21 years-old means that the legal limit for him inthe state is .02 percent.

Reinhardt was charged with DWI, unsafe speed, and failure tokeep right of the center.
