Man Killed by Train

Early on Friday morning,  a 65 year-old man was struck and killed by a train.  The accident occurred in New York City around 6:45 a.m. and authorities are investigating what caused this to happen.  The accident was at the Pleasant Plains station, and the route was closed after the incident to allow authorities access to the scene. 

The train was travelling its normal route when it struck the man who was on the tracks.  It is not known why the man was on the tracks at the time of the accident.  These types of accidents can represent a flaw in the safety procedures setup for the train.  More details should be released in the future to offer a better explanation of what happened.
