Woman Wins $27.5 Million Award for Bus Accident
/>
A jury in Manhattan has awarded a woman $27.5 million dollars at the end of a trial.
The woman lost her leg in an accident, after she was struck by a New York City Transit bus. The accident occurred in 2005. The woman was several blocks near her home when it happened. After being hit, she was rushed to a hospital. Doctors had no choice but to amputate the leg.
The lawyer for the New York City Transit system is asking for the decision to be reduced, stating that a $27.5 million dollar settlement is simply overboard.
