11-Year-Old Killed in DWI Crash
/> An 11-year-old girl was killed Sunday when Bronx woman,driving on the West Side Highway, crashed and overturned her car. Police saythat the driver, 31-year-old Carmen Huertas had a blood-alcohol content of morethan one and a half times the legal limit. Huertas was driving an over-packed car carrying sevenchildren, ages 11-14, many of whom were not wearing seatbelts. Authorities sayHuertas “failed a Breathalyzer test at the scene and her blood was drawn at thehospital later… Her sedan swerved off the highway near the West 96thSt. exit, flipped over and rolled several times before slamming into a tree” Leandra Rosado, 11, was killed after the crash.
