NY Man Injured in I-44 Crash

A man from New York was injured on Interstate 44 when hiscar crashed into a truck that was stopped because of an accident.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurredaround 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the westbound lanes of I-44.Sixty-year-old Michael Matthew of Ogdensburg, New York, suffered moderateinjuries and was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Matthew waswearing a seat belt.

A report released by the Missouri Highway Partol said that48-year-old Justin Lane, of Oklahoma, was stopped in a 2004 Chevrolet 1500truck because of an accident ahead of him on the interstate. Matthew did notsee the truck on time and collided with the rear of the vehicle.

Lane was not injured in the accident.
