1 Teen Killed, 1 Injured in SI Car Accident

One teen was killed and another injured in a car accident onSaturday night in Staten Island.

According to police a 16 year-old was driving on north Fr.Capodanno Boulevard, near Slater Blvd., in a 2004 Chevy when he lost control ofthe vehicle and struck a pole. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A16 year-old passenger was taken to Staten Island University North Hospitalwhere he was reported to be in stable condition.

The crash occurred around 8 p.m. on Saturday night. Policeofficials say they are continuing their investigation, and have not determinedwhat may have caused the accident.
