A massive explosion left six workers injured at a manufacturing plant. The company constructs decoy flares for the military and goes by the name of Kilgore Flares Company. Smoke could be seen from the plant as far as 75 miles. It is still unsure as to what cause the explosion and officials are looking into the explosion. Six workers were tragically injured due to the blast.
A 2,000 pound barrel of ink crushes worker at a construction site of Braden Sutphin Ink Co. The worker has been hospitalized after the 1 ton barrel crushed.
The construction worker is Justin Doak and he was just trying to distribute the ink from the 1 ton barrel into five gallon buckets. The barrel slid off the forklift somehow and fell on top of him. Mr. Doak said his hips were felt crushed and his arms were instantly going numb. By the time rescue officials arrived at the scene, the barrel was off of Doak.
A man from Brandon who is 35 was killed in a construction site accident in Barrett on Friday afternoon.
His name was Mitchell J. Brethorst and he was operating a backhoe at the time of the accident. A tree fell onto the full swing backhoe, which pinned Mitchell in the manhole.
As mentioned in the previous blog post, cranes can be dangerous business on construction sites. One construction worker was killed in a crane accident and two others were injured. The crane accident took place at a residential construction site in Burnaby, British Columbia.
Two people were sent to the hospital after a fiery multi-vehicle collision. Diesel fuel leaked from a wrecked semi-truck which ignited a fire. The semi truck ran a red traffic light, reportedly, hitting two cars which led to other collisions. The semi truck slammed into a power pole and electric transformer. The truck ended on it’s side in the eastbound lanes and then caught fire. The car pileup ended up with 7 cars.
Jimmy Worden died on late Wednesday afternoon while driving a Dodge pick up truck that crossed into traffic. He was then struck by an 18 wheeler driven by a 47 year old. The accident occurred around 5:30 pm. Investigators believe the driver of the Dodge Pickup veered into traffic for an unknown reason. The semi truck demolished the pick up truck and left a trail of destruction on the side of the highway with an unrecognizable Dodge truck.
A dump truck crushed a bus behind it.
A dump truck was climbing a hill when its engine suddenly died. This caused the truck to loose power in its air brakes which led to the dump truck rolling backwards. The dump truck continued backwards until crashing into a school bus. Seven people were rushed to the hospital. By the time the dump truck driver had been able to restart his engine and reactivate the air brakes, he had already slammed into the bus located behind the truck.
After the brakes failed on a dump truck, a 13 vehicle pile up resulted, leaving 5 people injured. The multi vehicle collision occurred at the Grand Avenue off ramp to Interstate 580 around 4:30 pm. Police officials have said it’s literally a miracle that no one suffered fatal injuries in the wreck.
